"Walter
Evans is celebrating his 71st birthday and his 56th
year in the handblown glass industry early next year.
The first 31 years involved working his way up through
factory glassblowing from a bit boy to gaffer at Pilgrim
Glass. He then spent 8 years as a foreman and then switched
full time to making molds, something he had started
after taking a woodworking course and being asked to
take over when the Pilgrim mold maker died. Walter has
a lot of stories to tell about mass production of glass
by hand methods." |
